Steps away from the Royal Connaught lies the heart of the Hamilton community – Gore Park. Ideally located in the centre of the city, “The Gore”, which dates back to the 1800s, is now seeing a renaissance of its own. The Gore Revitalization project boasts a return to the original Victorian design, a complement to the surrounding architecture. The redevelopment serves as a tribute to the past, while reclaiming the space as a central gathering place. Known as one of Hamilton’s favourite urban parks, The Gore revitalization project has brought new life to downtown. The Summer Promenade, launched by the Downtown BIA and coordinated with the City of Hamilton, brings vendors, musicians and artisans to the Park for three days a week throughout the summer. Christmas at Gore Park, complete with carousel rides and the Christmas Tree of Hope, keeps downtown Hamilton vibrant and alive throughout the year.
